The work on the house has been slow until this week. Monday the insulation truck showed up and started blowing the insulation into the house.
The two gentlemen who are handling the insulation walked into the house and just kept saying - this is going to be fun, this is going to be fun. I had a feeling the word 'fun' was not good. At the end of Monday this is what the north wall in the kitchen looked like. The little one at the bottom of the picture is Fawn.
Work on the insulation started again at 9:30 AM this morning. They worked till dark and will be back tomorrow to finish - we hope. Temperatures did not get above 32 today, which did not help them with their work.
Mr. William Gribble is doing the work on the septic system. He and his backhoe came on Monday. We had a bowdark tree (not sure of spelling) next to where the septic tank was to be placed. Buddy and I had been trying for years to find someone that could help us cut the tree down so we could burn it. This type tree is very, very hard and no one had a saw that could go throw it. Well, the tree found it match with Mr. Gribble's backhoe.
Lady, Fawn, and Little Bite enjoyed looking for small animals where the roots us to be.
Today Mr. Gribble came back and started digging the initial septic line and the hole for the septic tank.
Then the septic tank showed up.
It was amazing to watch them back the truck up to the septic hole and position the concrete tank over the hole - note the position of the back wheels. In less than 5 minutes the tank was in the hole and level. In other words, the hole was dug and level off exactly right for the concrete tank to fit into it.
The stone layers never returned to clean up around the house - nor to get the balance money due them, so I started cleaning up around the house with the help of the tractor. It proved to also be a learning process on how to lay and spread sand around the house. I have a lot more loads to do, but it sure beats doing it by hand.
The dogs are also enjoying the newly placed sand.
