We started the delivery of the sand for the foundation this week. It comes in 12 cu. yrd. dump trucks and the way I figure it we'll need 40 truck loads.

Thats 42'X76'(the slab's dimensions) X4' (the pads depth)= 12,768 cu. ft. then divided by 27 (which is the # of cu.ft. in 1 cu. yrd.) = 472 which I rounded up to 480 cu yrds. then divided by 12 yrds. (the size of the trucks load capacity) leaving 40 loads.

James Holder is my sand & gravel deliveryman, with his helper Pete they managed 18 loads thursday and friday.
